JAMES C. TYNES TECHNICIAN 5th CLASS US ARMY
James Tynes is a Hero. He died January 11, 1943 during the Battle of the Bulge protecting Strasbourg France from reoccupation by the Germans. Because of his bravery and countless others Europe was spared a cruel fate of tyranny. I am surprised how little our family knows this man and his sacrifice. Most of the people who knew him are gone. He was a radio technician for a 155 mm howitzer. This would have put him up front on many an occasion. He is buried at the Epinal American Cemetery. www.abmc.gov/images/ep3w.jpg

2009 Family Reunion
We just completed our 2009 Tynes Family reunion. It is always good to see everybody. We miss you if you are not there. There was plenty of gospel music, laughter, and food. Plan now to attend next year, the first Sunday of June each year. There is talk of maybe finding a restaurant next year with a big meeting room. AC is always nice. Let us know what you think. I want to publicly thank Peggy and Claude Henry for all they do each year to make sure we have a reunion. They work hard and pro ably don't get enough thanks. Thanks to all those that sing and play for us each year. I'm afraid to start listing each one of you for fear of missing someone. You are a blessing to us all. God bless. Shirley Ann Garcia brought a bunch of pictures she had extra , and what treasures they are. That is a good idea. We all could do that. Also if you have some old rare photos of the family to make copies. If I get it figured out I would like to publish some on this sight. Any way send your comments and stories. I would love to hear about your memories of Leona Tynes since we lost her this last winter. One of my first memories is of Leona, Stephen, and me in a corral at the ranch in the Arbuckle Mountains where Grandpa and Grandma Tynes lived. We each had a Slow Poke sucker and Leona had licked a point on hers and made it curve. I though it was the neatest thing and for years tried to do the same thing. I'll never forget her comic books and View Master. And Lord help you if you interfere with her T.V. I can't imagine growing up without her in my life. She was very special and praise God she was there for us all. Ada Faye Cavner will be 90 this year. Some of her kids was saying she was old and she showed them how to do the Charleston. Must be the daughter of Earl Tynes. Come on talk to me. I know I have missed allot. I've got "some timers" and have a hard time remembering. So please fill in what you remember and together we can remember it all.
